What is this place?

Welcome to a personal blog titled "OverlandSquad.com". This blog is a collection of adventure, discovery and exploration. Use the top menu to poke around video trip reports and photos. Our hope is that we inspire you to leave your chair and get out and explore the world around you. Enjoy.

“We need the tonic of wildness... At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” - Henry David Thoreau.

OverlandSquad.com is our personal portfolio, showcasing our family's love of the outdoors for friends and family. Since acquiring our Jeep in late 2011, we have been all over with our kids... adventuring, exploring, learning. We live in a truly wonderful place on Earth and there are limitless opportunities to discover rich history and breath-taking sights.

Everywhere we go, it's become a family tradition to do a freak-out photo. Here's a few of our favourites! Click for a thumbnail for a larger image.

Cheers! - Paul.

Here is our Jeep on 37" Nitto tires in February 2015

She started life as a 2012 Sahara in Dec 2011

UPDATE! - We traded in our 2012 Wrangler (White) for a 2016 Wrangler (Hydro Blue) in September 2016. I'll update the details eventually ;-)

Our overland vehicle of choice started life as a special order 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 3.73 gears, rear limited slip, manual transmission, fabric heated seats, air conditioning and base radio head unit. Within a month of ownership, a 4" Teraflex lift and 34" tires were added. Our build focus was long-distance overland travel in BC's backcountry and the western United States. If you would like more in-depth breakdown (including photos, videos) of our build, please see "The Jeep" page.
